Tapioca starch is a starchy flour that can be used to thicken sauces and dishes or to make tapioca pearls.
Use one teaspoon of starch to thicken about 250 ml of cold liquid.
Tapioca starch is also suitable for dusting meat and fish before baking.
It is more gel-like as a thickener than cornstarch. It gives a sauce a lighter, glossier finish. Often used in Asian desserts and also works as a very good alternative to f.eks. potato starch.
