Yude Azuki or prepared sweetened Japanese azuki beans, also known as anko, are mainly used in Japanese desserts.
This Yude Azuki from Imuraya is made with 100% Hokkaido red beans, sugar and salt.
The raw red azuki beans are slowly cooked with water, sugar and salt until they become soft, tender and aromatic. These beans are then ground into anko (sweet red bean paste) in either koshian (smooth) or tsubuan (coarse) varieties.
This can contains ready-to-eat anko, and the small size is perfect for making sweets at home.
Yude Azuki is used to make Japanese classics such as zenzai, oshiruko, dorayaki and taiyaki. It is also excellent as a filling for cakes and mochi or as a topping on pancakes and ice cream.
