These dried shiitake mushrooms are rich in aroma and full of flavor. Shiitake mushrooms have only recently started to become truly popular on the Danish food scene, but have for centuries been a staple ingredient in many Eastern kitchens because of their very rich umami flavors and delightful texture. Shiitake has an exquisite aroma and is often found in umami dishes. Butter-fried or soy-glazed shiitake mushrooms may well become your new favorite accompaniment to meat dishes.
Preparation
Soak in lukewarm water for 15 minutes. Remove the stem before use. The mushroom is suitable for soups, stews and meat dishes.
