Houcho knives from Japan are the common designation for high-quality knives created using the same traditional method.
700 years of refined craftsmanship are behind these sharp Houcho knives.
This Nakiri knife from Satake is particularly well suited for vegetables and fruit. Its tall blade helps make chopping and slicing easy while its slightly longer blade makes it practical to handle a variety of sizes of vegetables and fruit. The magnolia handle also helps provide an elegant and comfortable grip.
Sharpening angle: 15°
Storage and use
Wash under boiling water before first use.
Preferably store the knife in a knife block or on a magnetic strip, and avoid storing it in a drawer or container as that can damage the blade.
Also choose the cutting surface carefully and never cut directly on metal, granite or marble. Plastic or wooden cutting boards are preferable for preserving the fine blade.
Never cut bones or frozen food with high-quality knives unless they are specifically made for that purpose, as it can also damage the blade.
Always rinse the knife between uses under lukewarm water, wash by hand and dry immediately after use.
Sharpen when necessary.
