Yakitori means grilled (yaki) bird (tori) and typically refers to un-marinated chicken and vegetables on skewers that, while being grilled, are brushed with yakitori marinade. The sauce is milder in flavor and thinner than teriyaki sauce.
Usage:
Used for marinating chicken, beef and white fish. Can be marinated 30-60min before cooking if a stronger flavor is desired. Otherwise, meat is fried/grilled without marinating, and the marinade is applied when they are 75% cooked through and again before they are taken off the grill.
