These Korean rice cakes, also called tteok (떡), are an ideal product for making the Korean dish Tteokbokki or Topokki (떡볶이). It is a very popular traditional Korean street food. Tteokbokki is a versatile everyday snack that can be eaten as a main course, or as a side to your favorite Korean dishes.
With these frozen rice cakes from Allgroo, you can easily make the dish yourself at home!
The rice cakes also go well with soups and stews, and can be used with spicy, sweet, sour or savory flavors.
Preparation
Soak the desired amount of rice cakes in cold water for about 15 minutes to achieve a softer texture. Then rinse them and drain the water. Put the rice cakes in a pot with 200 ml of warm water, and let them cook with the tteokbokki sauce (gochujang, garlic and spring onions) for about 5 minutes. As soon as the water boils, reduce the heat and stir occasionally. Add other ingredients to taste, such as noodles, meat or boiled, halved eggs.
