Lap cheong (腊肠) are Chinese pork sausages with a sweet-salty flavor and a beautiful reddish-pink color. The presence of monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavor enhancer regularly used in Chinese cuisine, helps give lap cheong its distinctive taste.
Preparation:
Boil for 1 min and then pan-fry over low heat with a little oil for about 7 min, or place in an oven preheated to 160°C for 5–6 min. Slice and serve with rice or bread.
