Red rice is among the healthiest types of rice and has a high content of antioxidants, B vitamins and fiber. Bl.a. in the East it is regarded as a cholesterol-lowering alternative natural remedy because of its high content of monacolin K.
Red rice is also often used instead of white rice for its attractive color, and the reddish bran on the rice's outer layer also gives your dish an incredibly beautiful color that naturally resembles saffron.
Preparation method:
Rinse the rice a couple of times. Add 2 parts rice and 3 parts water to the pot and bring to a boil with the lid on, then turn down to low heat and let simmer for 15 minutes. The rice should rest for 10 minutes before serving.
