Udon noodles are a completely unique and distinctive type of noodle known from Japanese cuisine and can be used in both cold and hot dishes. These organic udon noodles from hakubaku are made from organic wheat flour, salt and water.
Japanese Udon noodles can be round, square or flat with a texture suited to more robust dishes. Try popular udon dishes such as tanuki or yaki udon. They are also perfect for stir-fries with chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables together with hoisin sauce.
Udon can replace soba in traditional soba recipes, and some dishes even mix soba and udon noodles to provide a variety of different textures.
Preparation:
Cook the noodles in boiling water for 10 minutes (salt or oil is not necessary). Drain the water and rinse well with cold water. Tip: When reheating, briefly place the noodles in boiling water. The texture should be soft in the middle with a firm bite.
