Variants:

Yangnyeom (양념) chicken is a type of Korean fried chicken seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce of gochujang, garlic, sugar and other spices.

Perfect to enjoy with beer in the company of family and friends!

This 350g pack is made with bite-sized, pre-cooked chicken pieces and is easy to prepare either in a deep fryer, on a pan or in a conventional oven.

In South Korea, fried chicken is enjoyed so often paired with beer that it has its own word Chimaek (치맥); a contraction of the words for chicken and beer.

Preparation:

Deep-fry

Preheat oil in a deep fryer to 180°C. Fry frozen chicken for about 6 minutes, until the surface becomes golden brown.

Airfryer

Place the frozen chicken in the airfryer. Cook at 200°C for 18 minutes.

Pan

Pour oil to a depth of 1-2 cm into a non-stick pan and heat to medium-high. Fry the frozen chicken at medium-high for 10 minutes, turning occasionally.

Oven

Preheat the oven to 230°C and heat for about 20 minutes, turning halfway.

Preparing the sauce

Place the sauce pouch in warm water to thaw. Mix the sauce and the warmed chicken together before serving.
