

Otafuku Okonomiyaki & Takoyaki Flour is a convenient and tasty flour mix that makes it easy to prepare the classic Japanese dishes okonomiyaki (savory pancake) and takoyaki (octopus balls) at home. This flour mix is especially suitable for beginners and those who want to save time in the kitchen, as it is already seasoned with soy sauce and salt to give an authentic flavor
Preparation:
For 1 Okonomiyaki: Mix 30g Okonomiyaki flour, 1 egg and 50 cl water together into a batter. Mix your ingredients together, f.eks. shredded cabbage, chopped bacon pieces and spring onions into your batter. Heat a frying pan to medium heat and add a little neutral oil. Pour the batter into a circular shape so it is about 1 cm high. Let cook on each side for about 5 minutes until golden and top your okonomiyaki with Japanese mayonnaise, dried bonito flakes, dried seaweed (ao nori) and okonomiyaki sauce.
For Takoyaki: Mix 600 ml water and 2 eggs together with the contents of the pouch into a batter (40 pcs). Mix in 20g tempura crisps, 30g spring onions, 5g beni shoga. Spray your takoyaki pan/plate with oil and heat to 200°C. Pour the batter to about halfway up the molds. Place your octopus pieces in, sprinkle with your mix of ingredients and fill the holes up with more batter. Keep turning the balls to cook the ingredients through and ensure a perfectly round takoyaki. Serve with Okonomi sauce and bonito flakes.
